Tuckahoe, NY (October 5, 2010) - PTI Packaging Systems would like to share the enclosed SHAKA Technical News Bulletins, just released from our supplier, Steriflow Thermal Processing.
For each product, processing time and statistical data is provided which compares current retort processing cycle data vs. the results using shorten-cycle SHAKA technology. Applications include:

SHAKA systems have been in continuous trial development for many years and typically sold for laboratory applications and R & D studies. PTI is pleased to announce the successful installation of Steriflow's first COMMERCIALLY installed SHAKA unit, officially the first operational production unit worldwide, now in full production within France at the Regals du Touquet Seafood Company producing specialty fish-based soups including crab and lobster products. A second system, also producing commercial products is now operational in Australia.
In today's food and nutritional markets, there is a strong emphasis and focus on high quality food products, especially within a growing number of convenience foods such as soups and ready meals. Consumers are seeking fresher tasting, better quality products, especially within the organic products and baby foods market segments. SHAKA solutions provide a faster retort/ sterilization process resulting in better taste for shelf stable products.
Steriflow manages an ever growing, complete customer service pilot laboratory facility with dedicated food scientist on staff to assist both existing and potential customers with testing and trial project evaluations.
